On mobile I see a green dot at the top left, what does this mean?Updated 2 hours ago

This dot indicates there is new activity in one or more of the spaces. 

Once you go through all new activity, this dot will disappear; if it hasn’t, there is likely some new activity that was missed (this could be in the chat, for example, which is a separate section in a space). 

If the dot is still appearing, there may have been new posts/chat messages made since you last checked.
